Miofive dashcams are designed to automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle starts. Normally, your car’s power-off mechanism ensures the dashcam shuts down properly to prevent unnecessary battery usage.

If your dashcam stays on after the vehicle is turned off, it may continue to draw power and drain your car battery.

To resolve this issue, please try one of the following solutions:

1. Enable Battery-Powered Parking Monitoring

Go to Settings → Recording Settings → Battery-Powered Parking Monitoring.

If no motion (detected by the G-Sensor or GPS) is recorded within 10–15 minutes, the dashcam will automatically shut down.

Note: If your car battery cannot support this countdown, there’s still a potential risk of power drain.

2. Use the Miofive Hardwire Kit for Proper Power Management

The Miofive Type-C Hardwire Kit provides safe and efficient power control, ensuring the dashcam automatically powers off when the car’s ignition is turned off.
