A large number of dash cam issues are actually related to the memory card rather than the device itself. From unexpected errors to corrupted files, a faulty or incompatible memory card can easily affect video recording quality. This guide covers the most common memory card problems and provides step-by-step solutions to keep your Miofive dash cam running smoothly.
Scenario 1: Memory card damaged, please replace.
In some cases, the memory card may become corrupted due to undetectable reasons.
How to fix it:
It is recommended to replace it with a new memory card.
Scenario 2: Memory card error, please format.
It is mostly caused by a faulty or incompatible card.
How to fix it:
1. Try formatting the memory card.
You can do this either on the dash cam or through the app.
On the dash cam:
Settings → More Settings → Format Memory Card → YES

Via the app:
Method 1:Home → Devices → tap the three dots in the upper right corner (Quick Settings) → More → Format SD Card
Method 2: Home → Devices → Live → tap Settings in the upper right corner → Format SD Card
2. If the issue persists, please replace the memory card with one we recommend. Click “Recommended Cards.”



Tips: Even when loop recording is enabled, it’ s important to format your memory card regularly to maintain stability and performance.
Scenario 3: Please format memory card.
If you notice that your dash cam video is choppy, interrupted, or fails to save properly, the issue is often linked to the speed performance of the memory card.
High-resolution recording requires a card with sufficient write speed. If your memory card is too slow, files may become corrupted or recording may stop altogether.
How to fix it:

2. Check the specifications of your current memory card.If it doesn’ t meet the requirements, It is recommended to replace it with a new memory card.
