Welcome to the MIOFIVE Mini Series FAQ.

Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about MiniS and Mini2 dash cams — I hope this can provide you with some help

1. Are the front sensors of the MiniS and Mini2 cameras the same or different?

They are different.

MiniS and Mini2 use different sensors and CPUs:

• MiniS: 800M pixel sensor

• Mini2: 500M pixel sensor

2. MiniS supports 4K/25fps recording, while Mini2 supports 2K/30fps. Can MiniS lower its recording resolution to save storage space?

Yes. MiniS supports recording in 2K and 1080P resolutions to help save storage space.

3. Both MiniS and Mini2 only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Can they transfer files to a phone via Bluetooth?

No. Bluetooth is used only for quick Wi-Fi pairing—it sends the dashcam’s Wi-Fi SSID and password to your phone.

Video files are always transferred via Wi-Fi, since Bluetooth bandwidth is not sufficient for video transmission.

4. Does MiniS have ADAS functions? What are its dimensions, weight, and mounting options?

• MiniS does not have ADAS functions.

• Dimensions: approximately 106mm × 33mm × 27.5mm (lens part).

• Weight: about 79g.

• The mounting plate is detachable for easy installation or removal.

5. Can the Mini’s single power button manually trigger emergency video capture?

No. Emergency recording is automatically activated by the G-Sensor when an incident or impact is detected.

The current video is saved to the EMER folder for long-term protection.

6. Can I set the MiniS 4K camera to record clips longer than 1 minute?

No. Due to system resource limitations, MiniS records in 1-minute intervals only.

7. Does Mini2 support speed camera alerts in the UK?

Yes. The UK version of Mini2 supports speed camera alerts.

Please make sure you purchase the UK version, as the US version does not include this feature.

8. Can MiniS and Mini2 connect via Bluetooth only, without Wi-Fi?

No. Traditional Bluetooth connections are not supported.

Bluetooth is used only for quick pairing.

All device features, including video transfer, rely on Wi-Fi, so the dashcam must be operated within its Wi-Fi hotspot range.

9. How can I adjust the position of the rear camera on Mini2?

Mini2 is a screenless dashcam, so rear camera adjustments are made through the MIOFIVE App.
